Denny Renner - September 15, 1948 – February 1, 2019
Denny Renner was born September 15, 1948 in Tacoma, WA to Arthur Lloyd Renner and Carmen Renner. He graduated from Oregon City High School in 1967 where he enjoyed and participated in a variety of sports. He then went to Portland State University where he earned a degree in Education.
In 1976 Denny took a position with Horace Mann Insurance Company in Kelso, WA where he met Kristen Hansen who was his first insurance claim. He and Kristen were married on February 4, 1978 and moved to Vancouver, WA Together they had three children (Molly in 1980, Kadie in 1982 & Kristofor in 1984). Denny was always there for his children by coaching their sports teams and attending every piano recital or choir concert his children were in.
Because Denny was a believer in Jesus he chose to serve Him. Denny helped as a youth leader at church for several years. Later he was an AWANA leader. He also demonstrated the love of Christ by opening his home to foster children for a time. Also, over the years Denny and Kristen hosted couples Bible study groups in their home.
Denny enjoyed fishing and boating and passed that love on to his children. He also enjoyed sharing time with family and friends at their family vacation home in Central Oregon. The family vacation home was frequently open for youth group getaways.
In 1988 Denny became a multiple line general agent for American National Insurance where he continued to serve his clients. He consistently produced above company standards and because of his efforts he qualified for many wonderful incentive trips to exotic, historical and interesting places around the world.
Denny could well be described as loving, faithful, kind, fun, generous and always ready for a good laugh.
Denny is survived by his wife, Kristen; daughters, Molly son, Kristofor; sister, Marie Laurens; five grandchildren and many other wonderful family members.
