Charlotte Marlene Allen, 76, of Longview passed away Feb. 2, 2023, at St. John Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1946, in Baker City, Ore., to Austin and Alta (Pearson) Coates. Charlotte was an active member of Powder Valley High School, participating in the marching band, Triple Trio, choir, Girl’s Glee Club, Pep Club, on the volleyball team, and the school paper.
Charlotte traveled throughout the Western United States with her husband Jess. She enjoyed buying and selling at flea markets, and serving as campground host and park entrance registrar for American Land & Leisure. She was beautiful, vibrant, funny and a loving mother and grandmother.
Charlotte is survived by three sons, Ken Pearson and Kent Pearson, both of Longview, and Kelly Hooper of Silverlake; a brother, Wayne Coates of Baker City, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Jessie Allen, preceded her in death in July 2022. Their ashes will be spread together near her childhood home.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Exodus Christian Fellowship, 2746 Ocean Beach Hwy., in Longview. Please bring stories to share. A potluck reception will follow.
