David Creagan

November 2, 1960 — May 28, 2022

David Creagan, 61, passed away May 28th at Kaiser Sunnyside with his wife Brenda at his side. Living most of his life in Clark County, David Allen Creagan was born in El Paso, Texas on November 2, 1960, and lived his life in a Texas style. Go big or go home and as bold as brass, Dave brought a love of life, of good food, and of adventure all while making friends everywhere he went.

Dave acquired his life long work ethic by working on the family egg farm. As a young man he excelled in athletics, especially baseball. At 16, he learned to run an excavator and that led to a long successful career in building underground infrastructure. As with most things in Dave's life, his businesses were truly a family affair. With the loving support of his wife, Brenda, and the hard work of his two sons, Jeff and Chris, Dave built a reputation to be proud of. Although his work earned him contracts as far away os Arizona, Colorado, California, Oregon and even Hawaii, he was never more happy than when he and his family and close partners were building the many cabin communities on and around Swift Reservoir, near Mt. St. Helens. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren at the family property on Pine Creek. There, he spent many nights around the campfire with them sharing stories and teaching life lessons. These lessons included how to chop and stack firewood with a giant excavator and how to cook a large family breakfast for 50 or more. Dave loved celebrating the 4th of July. Anything he could blow up was fair game. The family business sponsored the fireworks display in Cougar, WA for all to enjoy. Another passion of Daves was to go fast and to be first! His race team, Bi-Polar Racing, was a perfect outlet for this. He and his team, consisting of family and friends, placed in both the Baja 500 and 1000 races in the Pro-Truck and Side-by-Side classes.

Dave and his high school sweetheart, Brenda, were married for 42 years. They have two sons, Jeffery (Serena) and Christopher (Shelby) and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother. Nita Creagan King, his California dad, Skip, brothers, Jimmy, Jeff (Jeanette), Sean (Jessica), and two sisters, Erin Creagan, Mary Sorenson (Scott), and California siblings Richard King (Niki) and Kristin MacLean (Matt), and brother-in-law, Brian McDonald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is preceded by his father, Jim Creagan, and his best Labrador buddy, Dozer.

The service will be held at Vancouver Church, 330 NE 78th St., on June 25th at 1pm. A celebration of life will be held in La Center following a private graveside service.
