Karen Ann McGee (LeClair) was born December 7, 1944, in Longview, Washington to Delbert Jay and Carolyn May LeClair (Dahl). She was a lifelong local resident graduating from Kelso High School in 1963. Karen met her high school sweetheart, Dale McGee, at Crystal Pool in Kelso and married August 16, 1963. Karen and Dale spent 59 years together raising their children, Leanne Renae Allred (McGee) and Richard Dale McGee (deceased).
Karen loved horses, owning two and competing in 4-H, local fairs, and saddle clubs. It was a wonderful hobby for a young girl. Karen was also a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and worked in health care for European Health Spa, Nutrisystem and Medical Diet Service. In Karen and Dale’s retirement years, they purchased a beach house, enjoying over 20 years of family fun with wonderful memories and a place of peace.
Karen and Dale were owners of Tritex Inc. where their son worked beside his Dad for 36 years. Karen loved the Hawaiian Islands and made several trips to Oahu and Maui. She also traveled to Reno, Las Vegas, California, and the Canadian Rockies.
Above all else, Karen loved her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Jay Leclair, her mother, Carolyn May Leclair (Dahl), and her son, Richard Dale McGee. She is survived by her husband, Dale McGee; daughter, Leanne Allred (McGee); son-in-law, David Allred; daughter-in-law, Carol McGee (Ryf); granddaughters, Julie Ann Lum (Shane), Emily Ann Allred, Katherine Lee Aslin (Cody); grandson, Kyle Richard McGee; great grandson, Oliver Ryan Aslin. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Hammer; a niece, Janel Bangert; nephews, Jason and Jared Hammer and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Karen had attended Gloria Dei Lutheran church and Emmanuel Lutheran church where she and Dale were married. Karen was strong in her Christian faith believing there is a time and a purpose for everything.
