Wilma "Charlene" Wilson

March 19, 1958 — March 1, 2023

Charlene Wilson passed away at St. John Medical Center surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with COPD. She was born in New Orleans, La., to Helen Charlene Blaylock and Herschel Odel Blaylock, the youngest of four. She moved from Santa Maria, Calif., to the Longview/Kelso area before settling in Rainier, Ore.

In 1977, Charlene met the love of her life, Robert Milton Wilson. They were married Aug. 2, 1977. They welcomed two boys, Robert and Kevin. Charlene was dedicated to her children. She had a generous heart and was known to open her home to those needing a place to go.

Charlene was a district manager for the Longview Daily News’ Circulation Department. She enjoyed the relationships she made with her coworkers. Charlene cherished her friendships, and she loved spending time with her best friend Becky Abraham. Together they enjoyed trips to the beach and going for long drives. Charlene also enjoyed camping with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 33 years, Robert in 2010; her parents, Herschel and Helen; two sisters, Wanda and Rhonda who passed as an infant; and a brother, Eugene.

Survivors include her sons, Robert and Kevin (Cecilia), both of Longview; an adopted daughter, Marie in Boise, Idaho; two granddaughters, Alexis in Longview and Teddy-Lynn in Boise; four grandsons, Devyn and Ryleigh, both of Longview, Shon in Boise, and Kody in Richland, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved very much.

A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. March 20 at Longview Memorial Park.
